2024 Classic Physique Olympia Results — Chris Bumstead Wins 6th Title and Retires from the Sport

On Saturday night, the Classic Physique division did not let us down. Prejudging in the morning session demonstrated that it was one of the more fascinating groups going into the weekend.

On Saturday, October 12 at 7:00 p.m., competitors in the Classic Physique category gathered inside the Resorts World Theater. Finally, Chris Bumstead created history by winning the championship six times in a row. With that, the guy who had previously been the division’s longest reigning champion added to his record.

Sommerfeld was the standout contestant in the prejudging. Early on, he appeared to have an advantage over Ramon Rocha Queiroz and Urs Kalecinski. This carried over into the evening segment of the program, with Sommerfeld emerging as Bumstead’s runner-up. Again coming in third were Kalecinski, Ramon Dino, and Breon Ansley.

Chris Bumstead shocks the bodybuilding community by announcing his retirement 

After claiming his sixth classic Physique Title, Bumstead shocked the bodybuilding community when he announced his retirement from the bodybuilding stage. The stadium fell silent in shock after Bumstead’s moving speech.

The 29-year-old appeared to be in his prime, so everyone was taken by surprise by the news. Bumstead expressed gratitude to everyone associated with the NPC, IFBB, Olympia, his family, and his coach, considering it their support that propelled him to the pinnacle of the sport. Recognizing the physical and psychological toll the sport takes, he declared it was time to turn his attention to new endeavors.

In 2017, Chris Bumstead made his stage debut at Olympia. He was beaten by the reigning champion, Breon Ansley, in that year’s race. Before beginning his stunning run since 2019, he finished second the following year in 2018.

Following his victory in 2019, Bumstead has emerged as the face of bodybuilding. And he’s now made his retirement known. Bumstead titled his most recent Instagram photo, “The Last Dance.”

CBum has promised his supporters, nevertheless, that he will continue to be connected to the athletic and fitness sectors in the future.
